Non-trade ads are free if they are 10 words long or less, and will appear on the website only, in the free section, for one week.

All paid advertising appears both online and in print. Each payment includes a week online in the paid section (larger type, further up the page) and one edition in print (more info on ad duration).

The minimum charge for a paid line ad is as for 10 words.
Example 1: A 20 word advert in Jobs Offered: 20 words @ 50p / word = £10, + VAT @ 17.5% = £11.75.
Example 2: A 7 word advert in Jobs Offered: 10 words (minimum charge) @ 50p / word = £5, + VAT @ 17.5% = £5.88.

The minimum size of a box ad is 3cm* in height (our column width is 6.8cm*. Double column ads are charged pro rata. The website version of a box ad is the same shape as in print, and the width online is 340 px. More info on dimensions). Design, if desired, is included.
Example 1: A 3cm* box ad in Coming would be 3cm* @ £10/cm = £30, + VAT @ 17.5% = £35.25.
Example 2: A 7cm* box ad in Jobs Offered would be 7cm* @ £12/cm = £84, + VAT @ 17.5% = £98.70.

*Very occasionally, when we have a particularly high volume of advertising, in order to fit all the ads into print, we produce a sheet with 7 columns instead of our usual 6. This means that all the content - ads, listings, cartoons etc - is slightly reduced in size. Because we have a very tight turnaround on ads, we don't always know in advance how full a sheet is going to be, so we cannot always predict when we're going to have to add an extra column. The size of the ad online is unaffected.
